Product Description

Wainscot is a wall covering material of homogenous structure, planished on both sides, with tongue and groove design, easy to work and treat. We recommend it indoor for ceiling or wall covering. It is very aesthetic, creating a natural feeling.

    As regards its material, pine is a denser structured, more massive wood material with higher load capacity. Also called Scots pine. 

    Characteristics of wainscot wall covering:
    Wainscot is a wall covering material of homogenous structure, planished on both sides, with tongue and groove design, easy to work and treat. We recommend it indoor for ceiling or wall covering. It is very aesthetic, creating a warm feeling. 
    In some cases, bottom of wainscot is relieved by two or three longitudinal cuts which help the wainscot avoid deformation, twisting.

    Spruce timber: it is the lightest wood material, easy to work and treat, cheap.

  1. Tongue and groove design
     With the tongue and groove design, the elements can be easily slid in each other and ranged. It is an easy, quick way of covering. Very aesthetic.
  1. A/B
    A/B = it may comprise sound, inner knots, maximum 40 mm.
    Smaller defects are permitted; they cannot be seen following the matching. 
    Heart is permitted till the half of the length of the wainscot. 
    End cracks are permitted till the length equalling to the width of lath.
    Discoloration is permitted up to 10% of the surface, for max. 10% of the laths.

  1. General fields of application of wainscot
    • Usually indoor covering material, excellent for ceiling, wall covering
    • It is widely used also for partition of areas, covering of lofts
    • We recommend using the thicker 15 mm wainscot outdoor: facia boards of fence roofs, houses

For the finishing, you can equally use wood dyes, transparent colours, lacquers, depending on what colour effect, glaze we would like to achieve.

 

You can safely select from the finishing agents sold by us, these are environment-friendly products.

 

In case of outdoor use, we always recommend using a wood protective agent, mainly water based paint.

The first step is fixing the pads with wall plugs to the surface to be covered, in each 40-50 cm.

Fix the pads perpendicularly to the wainscot.

It is important that the pads are perfectly in the same plane.

 

In case of watery wall, place the pads in such a way that leave space between them to ensure ventilation for the wall.

When installing the first wainscot, be careful that it stand exactly perpendicularly to the pad. Use of bubble-level will help you.

Use wainscot clip for fixing the other wainscot laths.

 

Be careful to buy the proper clip suitable for the thickness of your wainscot. Place the clip in the groove of the wainscot, then fix it to the sill with a nail.

Prior to the installation of the wainscot, it is reasonable to finish them once, with their back also included.

When cutting the wainscot to the proper length, be careful not to injure the surface of the wainscot.

 

If the purhcased wainscot is shorter or longer than the surface to be covered, then after cutting to the exact size continue with the remaining piece, making sure that the matching points do not line up.

The matching points will repeat in certain spaces.

Close the edges of the wainscot with facing laths, nailed to the wainscot.

 

The last step is finishing, which can be done with wood dye, transparent colour, or simply lacquer, keeping the original colour, pattern of the wood.

Manually: you can easily remove simple surface contaminants with a brush and water. You can use abrasive paper as well.

 

With machine: treat the high-pressure washing devices cautiously because too high pressure may even cause surface injuries.
